Borealis, a leading provider of innovative solutions in the fields of polyolefins, base chemicals and fertilizers, along with customers and honored local guests, celebrated a hallmark in its global expansion efforts by declaring its new polypropylene (PP) compounding plant in Taylorsville, NC, open. The 50,000 sq. ft. facility, with rail siding in place, adds an initial 66 million pounds of capacity to strengthen Borealis’ and Borouge’s global supply capability for thermoplastic olefin (TPO) and short-glass fiber (SGF) compounds. Among the first compounds produced in the new facility are those used to make automotive interior and exterior parts for major OEM and Tier customers.

To celebrate the grand opening of its first manufacturing facility in the U.S., Borealis planned to host a three-day inauguration celebration for its partners, customers, employees and media in Charlotte and Taylorsville, NC. Borealis hired S&A Communications for event strategy and planning, as well as regional public and community relations support.
